Teachers and faculty share holiday plans

Every December is spent cramming in the hopes of getting A’s on our finals, and daydreaming about our plans for the two-week holiday break. But have you ever thought about what your teachers are planning to do over the break? De Equitibus interviewed a few faculty members to find out.

“I plan to visit my family in Boston (‘Beantown’), Massachusetts,” Ms. Bernard said. “Hopefully, there’ll be no signs of a blizzard this time around. I got snowed in last year and couldn’t get back to Phoenix for two days!”

“All of my grown children, and other family, will come to our house on Christmas Day for brunch,” Mr. Thurston said. ” We then plan to see Les Miserables and return for dessert after that.”

“Our family is very excited for our two college kids to come home for the holidays!” Mrs. Moffitt said. “We are going to Rocky Point for a week to enjoy playing games, walks on the beach, good books, and to help build foundations for three homes for needy families.”

“I will be deep sea diving in the Great Blue Hole in Belize,” Mr. Chapin said. “I am attempting to break my previous record of 100 feet below the surface and will be on the lookout for the Doctor fish. It will be exciting to feed the moray eels on my way down through the coral reef and take photos with my trusty underwater camera”

“I am really, really, really lucky; Felicity and I will get to fly to England for a few days,” Mr. Macdonald said. “However, I have to write semester reports and will probably end up doing nothing very exciting.”

“After enjoying the holidays with my wife and dog, I plan on traveling to Lee’s Ferry, Arizona (middle of nowhere near Page, Arizona) with a few of my friends for our annual duck hunting trip,” Mr. Keating said. “Without going into the gory details, it is a festive event, filled with joy (except for the ducks), and it provides my dog and me with wonderful tasting duck and duck jerky for a few months. My wife won’t eat it — her loss.”

“My whole family attends midnight mass,” Mrs. Hicks said. “And then on Christmas Day, we enjoy festivities and delicious food!”
