Tis the season for students, teachers to give thanks

As Thanksgiving approaches, we asked students and teachers around the school what they are thankful for.

Hayden Wisneski, 6A: I’m thankful for my family, because otherwise I would not be here. They help me through thick and thin. My parents have been helping me with any problems I have. My sister, Cami, is the best sister I could ask for and has an awesome personality. My older sister is fun to hang out with and takes me shopping when I need clothes. My older brother kept me entertained for so long. Thank you Vanessa, Nathan, Maggie, Cami, Mom and Dad for helping me through life.

Waley Lin, 6B: I’m thankful for all my friends that are funny and nice to me. You guys are the best and you help me through 6th grade. Also, big thanks to some of you that make me smile and make my heart warm. I am thankful for the memories and my friends. I’m also thankful for my family who takes care of me and guide me through life. They tell me what’s right and wrong. They are the best parents and older sister I could ever have and want. I’m also thankful for all the teachers that help me in class, care about us, and treat us all nicely. I’m glad I came to TPA and made new friends.

Bree Van Dahm, 6B: I’m thankful for my family because they keep me occupied and provide me with food. I’m also thankful for my friends because they’re amazing and carry me around. Like seriously, carry me around with their bare hands.

Maddie Bocker, 6B: I’m thankful for my family, friends, Netflix, food, shelter and my school. My family is always there for me. My friends are nice, funny, and entertaining. Netflix lets me watch great shows and movies so I do not get bored at home. I’m thankful for food because I would die without it. I’m thankful for Divergent because it’s the best book and movie. I’m thankful for my school because I get a great education from it. Finally, I’m thankful for shelter because I need to live somewhere or else I will be living in the streets with the rats.

Gianna Brittain, 6C: I’m thankful for my family, faith, and my school. I’m thankful for my family because they love me and will never run out of love for me, faith because I will always believe, school because it has a good education and is a great way to get into college, and my cousins. They live 30 seconds away from me, so I can spend time with them.

Sophie Muniz, 6C: I am thankful for my amazing family, all my wonderful friends and my adorable pets. My friends are always there when I need them and will always cheer me up when I’m feeling down. My family is nice and funny, which makes me smile every day. My pets make me feel happy each day and I will never stop playing with them.

Clara Moffitt, 6C: I’m thankful for my family because I love them dearly. I’m thankful for my sister Jessica because she is nice, funny, awesome, and she loves me. My dog is cute, funny, and sweet. I’m thankful for going to school so that I can go to a good college. I’m thankful for Rocky Point because of the beautiful view it shows to the world. Most importantly, I’m thankful for turkey.

Natsuki Saballos, 7A: I’m thankful for my family, house, religion and education because I know there are kids that don’t have this but want it. I am grateful for having these.

Max Terrell, 7B: I’m thankful for the teachers at Tempe Prep who give us all an education, and I’m also thankful for my friends who accept me for who I am. But most of all, I am thankful for sparkly, magical, and awesome penguins because they are my favorite animal.

Dayvion Sumpter, 8C: I’m thankful for my friends and family because they are always there by my side. Also I’m thankful for the school and football. And my manly looks.

Eddie Pivonka, 9C: I’m thankful for my family, my faith, football, video games, and food. Without these I wouldn’t be alive and wouldn’t have happiness. I have been blessed with many things.

Denzel Rustempasic, 10B: I’m thankful for Tempe Prep, and all of their facilities, and wonderful….no, exceptional teachers. I love their vast learning environment. I bleed blue and gold. Go Football!

A’lira Underwood, 10C: I’m thankful for having great friends and a wonderful family who are there to support me. I’m also thankful for opportunities and good times.

Nina Lin, 11A: I’m thankful for the great memorable year at TPA. I have made many new awesome friends since last year. They’re funny, nice, interesting, entertaining, and fun to be with. I want to thank them for making every day a special day. I’m also thankful for our teachers making learning fun. They are always there to help and always there to guide us throughout the years. So, Knights, when you see your teacher, thank them for their hard work in school. Everyone in TPA is like family to me. I’m also thankful for my parents for being there every step of the way and working hard in order to have a shelter and food. Also I’m thankful for my younger brother for always supporting me and making my life more fun.

Ariana Cardoso, 11A: I’m thankful for true friends that can always make me laugh and support me no matter what. I’m thankful for my friend Sophie for sitting by me in every class except for math. She always helps me to fangirl about shows when I need it! She’s FABULOUS! I’m thankful for my other friend Nasrynn for always being there to take my food. I’m thankful for my parents being at school because they can always sign something if I forget.

Jasmine Antony, 11A: I’m thankful for my loving family and supportive friends. I wouldn’t be the same without them. I’m also thankful for the opportunity I have to attend a school that offers such a rigorous, challenging curriculum. TPA has taught me how to strive for excellence.

Connor Will, 11B: I’m thankful for the parents I have. They are super funny, kind, and understanding. I love them very dearly.

Bradley Spiker, 11C: I am thankful that Nina FORCED me to be in the newspaper!

Christian David, 12B: I’m thankful for my health, family, and necessities. In fact, I have the free time to do things and time to learn. I’m thankful for having great teachers and family who cares about me. Lastly, I’m thankful for my hopes in life.

Anne Fischer, 12C: I’m thankful for Hanley Carter, for he is the salt of the earth. He makes my life salty.

Hanley Carter 12C: I’m thankful for Anne Fisher, for she is the pepper of the earth, and she makes my life peppery.

Teachers

Dr. Evans: I’m thankful for Jesus Christ, my colleagues and the students in my class.

Mr. Carlin: I’m thankful for my family, my faith, rock and roll, and the opportunity to teach the great books to such receptive students. “ We like our students.”

Mr. Thurston: I feel personally blessed for all of my family, friends and the life I have now. I’m sad that Nina is not in my class anymore but glad that she stayed at TPA.

Mr. Halter: I’m thankful for my job and my family, life, and health. I’m thankful for God because he is great and I don’t deserve all of these things. God is great and I don’t feel like I need the good things I have.

Mr. Sweet: I’m thankful for a family, kid, wife and parents, and also really thankful for the group of students I have. I’m thankful for the wonderfully intelligent group of colleagues that I teach with.

Mr. Keating: I’m thankful for cable TV, Snickers bars, hundred pound dumbbells, and food. I’m thankful that my family and friends are healthy and happy. I’m also thankful for my personal level V8 Engines. Finally, a message to everyone: bring me your Thanksgiving leftovers.

Mr. Amorose: I’m thankful for my wife and children and my parents and the amazing students.

Mr. Granville: I’m thankful for getting to do Ragnar (a race) with my friends. Mr. Sweet included, “Also having colleagues that are smarter than he is.” I’m thankful for an amazing mom and for having a really great cross country run this year. Also, Otter Pops, they make me embarrassingly happy.

Mr. Bernreuter: I’m thankful to be able to teach at TPA. I’m also thankful for my family. I’m so thankful for Mr. Sweet. He’s solid. I give thanks to the universe for unfolding as it has to this point.
