Tempe Prep’s baseball team tasting sweet success as season progresses

By Chris Moffitt

The prospects for Tempe Prep’s varsity baseball team are looking better and better as the season progresses!

According to Junior Jacob Brown, The baseball team is “going on a five-game winning streak. We just beat Chandler Prep 3-2 in extra innings. They were the 4th seed and we knocked them down to the 13th seed so we’re looking pretty good for playoffs and we’re looking good to win our section. Chandler Prep was our biggest challenge.”

Possibly speaking for the entire team, Jacob also calls the Chandler Prep game his favorite game so far. He says, “Beating them was great! The game was really hyped up, they thought they were going to beat us but we came out with a solid win and it was really just a close good game.”

Outlining the mentality of the team, Senior Dominic Amorose says, “Our goal for the season is to get as far as we can into the playoffs, and to do that we need to play well and take it one game at a time all the way through and we can’t have any off days. I think our biggest challenge is being mentally prepared for each game and never letting one mistake lead to another.”

Looking ahead, Dominic specifically mentions the upcoming games against Push Ridge and Joy Christian, commenting that “those are going to be competitive games, but hopefully we’ll play well and get the victory!”

Let’s try to make it to those games and support our Knights Varsity Baseball!Simminger DSC_0348 DSC_0384 DSC_0412 DSC_0422 DSC_0427 DSC_0445 DSC_0457 Fowler
