Knights track and field team is training hard in preparation for another promising season

By Carter Sampson

They might be a little bit crazy. But you have be somewhat nuts to purposely sign yourself up to track. Because all they do is run. Every. Single. Day. But what many people consider a punishment, those in track consider fun. And that point of view is paying off huge for those involved.

Because they have yet to race in a meet, our track and field Knights are dedicating themselves completely to getting better. They have been weightlifting and running hard to prepare for their first meet.

Sophomore Kierstin Thigpen says of the sport, “Track is so much more than running. It’s the friends you make, the feeling you get as your team cheers you on across the finish line, and the satisfaction of pushing farther than you thought you could go. And in the end, all those things make the pain and sweat totally worth it!”

With the talent of our team, and the hard work they are pouring in, we are sure to see great results from our track team. After the pain of their practices, the Knights certainly deserve the glory of the finish line.
