Individual Skills and Teamwork Lead to the Jr.High Boys’ Success

By Hayden Sampson
Although basketball is a team sport, it’s made up of individuals. It’s made up of individuals that win, ones that lose, ones that show leadership, and ones that don’t. Tempe Prep Junior High boys’ basketball team is made up of the winners, the leaders, and the just outright skilled basketball players.
These skills have led them to a very successful season so far, and many more opportunities. This exciting team is on track for a great season. The eighth grade leaders keep the team focused and in the game.
With many games to go, the team is really shaping up. When asked about the main goal for this year, Coach Phelan says, “This year’s team plays the game very hard and with joy. The boys are multi-sport athletes, dedicated weightlifters overall, and if we continue to work at our current pace, we have great potential to do well in the closing tournament.”
Thanks to great leadership, the team is accomplishing great feats of teamwork and success. This team has really developed, and continues to develop over the season. Good luck, Knights!
