Junior High Girls on top of the league

Sometimes teams need height to win games. Not these girls. Playing basketball obviously comes easy to them, and their team coordination has shown throughout the season.

With the best record in the league and only one loss, our girls Junior High basketball team is fired up and on a roll. Poala Perez-Mendoza, an eighth grader, as well as one of the stars on the team, scored a total of 20 points in a thorough beating to Chandler Prep.

With players willing to work hard and get better throughout the season, the team’s progress is still looking upwards. Eighth grader Maya Kostov says, “We’ve gotten a lot better, and I’m really glad for all the great friends I’ve gained over this season so far.”

With team confidence at a high, fans should be looking for more games to come and watch over the next few weeks. Good Luck Lady Knights!

Boys Basketball

Basketball is not an easy sport to just pick up and play. It’s a good thing that the Junior High boys have leaders and teammates there to help and guide the younger players and really just teach them to have a good time.

Kolby Pivonka, a seventh grader on the team, says, “I’ve really got to learn the ways of the game and become closer friends throughout the season.”

The first game of the season, against Arete, our Knights were tied in the last few seconds, and Josh McKinney shot a three pointer, but got fouled and made a free throw for the winning point.

After a few close loses, the Knights are ready for a comeback, and need your support. Good luck Knights!
