Mr. Joshu begins new chapter in life at TPA

By Maya Kostov

Mr Joshu 1Big welcome to Mr. Joshu, Tempe Prep’s new biology teacher. Mr. Joshu was born in Prescott, Arizona, and after going to college in Colorado, he moved back here in 1981. He taught at Dobson High School for the last 36 years, that is, until last May.

Mr. Joshu is close friends with Mr. Edelbrock, and when he heard there was an open position here, he jumped at the chance.

Ever since Mr. Joshu was a child, he always liked school. He says he “always liked biology and did very well. I wasn’t the best at my other subjects but biology was always entertaining.” Mr. Joshu entered college as a business major, but then realized that he loved education and stuck to that.

Mr. Joshu’s favorite biology unit is by far ecology. Not only does he love learning about the environment, he loves living in it. Camping, fishing, hiking; Mr. Joshu does it all. He also likes learning about genetics, but most of all he likes watching the students interact, especially during the labs.

Mr. Joshu’s motto in life is to always live life to the fullest. He says, “I just recently turned 60 years old, so even though I may not be able to do everything, I always try to have fun.”
