Want to make some money? OK, that might be a bit of a stretch. But the members of the Tempe Prep Academy Investment Club are learning tips that could definitely lead to making money in the future! If you are interested in stocks, economics, or making money, this is the club for you.

Aimee also said that members of the Investment Club have recently learned about the types of markets, such as bull vs. bear, and discussed the recent stock-market dip. “We also talked about how beneficial long-term investment is,” Cheng said. “Mrs. Moffitt also came in one day to discuss funding a college education.”

Senior member Kayla Wight talked about her favorite part of Investment Club: “I love when we go onto the Chrome Books and go onto Investopedia to simulate investing in the stock market! We don’t actually spend any money, but we get to see how much profit we would have made if we had invested.”

Dr. Evans, the faculty sponsor, says that, “The (Federal Reserve) is rumored to raise interest rates more than as planned, which might be bad for investors by causing low stock prices, but the fundamentals of the economy are sound and many experts predict increased market long term.” When the market fell recently, Dr. Evans bought heavily to take advantage of low prices.

With good advice and real world practice like this, membership in this club is a good investment.
