Baseball season ends in close post-season loss

By A’ser Mostafa

The Tempe Prep baseball season has come to an end. Though the team has been very successful this season, finishing with an impressive 15-3 overall win-loss record to propel them to the 14th seed in playoff rankings where they would face off against third seed Bisbee.

The team finished the regular season winning their last five games. One of them being a dominating 6-3 victory over rivals Chandler Prep, as well as two wins where the team scored 20 or more runs versus Bourgade Catholic and Veritas Prep. The team also won their section with a 7-1 overall record.

Going into the state tournament the team was filled with excitement and motivation. They went in, fought hard, but fell short 7-6 to Bisbee.

Overall, this season was a very successful one. Unfortunately the team fell short of their ultimate goal. But they have learned plenty from the experience of this season. There will be many rising and already experienced players coming back for another season next spring. We will be back. Go Knights!
