Hard work pays off for young varsity girls team

By Katherine Camberg

This season, the girls basketball team has made great improvements. They started the season with a young team and many inexperienced players. However, throughout the season, with their hard work and dedication, they were able to improve immensely. Coach Calahan told me about one girl in particular who helped lead the team.

BBVG019-This girl was team captain Claire Carmody. Coach Calahan explains: “She is so serious about basketball, and super dedicated. She put in a lot of work over the summer and throughout the season. She is always asking me how she can improve.” Claire embodies the spirit of the basketball team and is a strong leader for the younger girls on the team. Coach Calahan also described her as a very consistent player and a great leader for the team. Claire’s leadership and consistency helped guide the team through a successful season.

The team has had a fairly successful season and worked hard to achieve their goal of reaching play-offs. The girls have improved remarkably and have surprised other teams in their section. Despite being placed in an extremely difficult section, the girls have still played well. Coach Calahan says that, as long as the girls play consistently, they have a good chance of making it to playoffs.

Overall, the girls have had a good season and have made tons of improvement. Go Knights!
