AskAthena! December Edition

I am a fairly outspoken person and therefore, to my teacher, I am known as loud. The person next to me in Humane Letters talks to me all the time, and I barely respond, but my teacher yells at me, even though my peer is the one talking. What should I do?

If your teacher is just scolding you lightly, shake it off. If you are genuinely in trouble and are written up or seriously disciplined, try to talk to your teacher. Explain the situation, in a calm and detached manner. If your teacher becomes upset, you can tell Mr. Keating what is going on. He is the Dean of Students and is there to protect your interests.

What should I do if there is a person I get super annoyed by that hangs out with my friend group? (Seriously, they are so frustrating!!)

Honestly, you just have to deal with it. There are some people we do not get along with and that is how it is and you have to try and control your irritation around them. You can also try to distance yourself from this person or talk to them about your feelings in a respectful manner.
