TPA Congressional Award announcements

By Sayellor Taylor

Heads up! X2Vol volunteer hours are due soon in Infinite Campus for all high school students.

Luckily, the TPA Congressional Award Club has a list of volunteer dates in the near future available to all students. Information is posted on bulletin boards around school. Additionally, dates, times and locations are below:

  • TPA Congressional Award Club meeting on Monday, Apr. 24 at Tempe Prep in the Evdokimo Auditorium from 7-8 pm
  • Volunteering at Feed My Starving Children from 7-8:45 pm on Friday, April 28

Not a high schooler? You are welcome to come to any of these volunteer opportunities, as well.

Volunteering is a great way to show to colleges that you are actively involved in your community. If you are 13½ or older, consider registering for the TPA Congressional Award Club next year. It allows you to gain recognition and Congress-merited awards for activities including volunteering, sports and other hobbies. Divided into four categories (Voluntary Service, Personal Development, Physical Fitness, and Expedition/Exploration), these awards stand out on college applications and scholarships because they show that you are a well-rounded and adaptable person.
